Descriptive Research on The Acceptance of Developing a Professional Photography Portfolio by Using Google Site Among Photographers

Abstract

Aim: The aim of this research is to explore the acceptance of developing a photoshoot portfolio by using Google Sites among photographers, focusing on its effectiveness, accessibility, usability, and potential to enhance professional visibility in the digital era. Background: In the modern digital landscape, photographers rely heavily on online platforms to showcase their creativity, build professional identity, and attract clients. Traditionally, portfolios were presented in printed albums or through specialized portfolio websites requiring technical expertise and financial investment. However, with the emergence of free and user-friendly platforms such as Google Sites, photographers now have an accessible option to design and maintain their portfolios without advanced web development skills. Google Sites allows easy integration of multimedia elements, including images, videos, and descriptions, making it a practical tool for presenting photoshoot collections. Its collaborative features and integration with Google Workspace further support professional networking and visibility. Despite these advantages, the acceptance and effectiveness of using Google Sites as a portfolio tool among photographers remain underexplored. This research seeks to investigate photographers’ perceptions, usability experiences, and willingness to adopt Google Sites for developing their photoshoot portfolios, thereby contributing to digital portfolio development practices in creative industries. Methodology: cross sectional descriptive study according to open epi 385 sample size, population Photography students and teachers. Infinite / very large population (95% CI, d=5%). Data collection through TAM questionnaire was done. Conclusion: This study explored the acceptance of developing a photoshoot portfolio using Google Sites among photography teachers and students. Findings showed a high level of acceptance, with participants considering the platform easy to use, useful, and effective for professional visibility. Both teachers and students expressed positive attitudes and intentions toward adopting Google Sites for portfolio development. Overall, the study confirms that Google Sites is a practical, accessible, and sustainable tool for showcasing creative work and can enhance digital literacy and professional readiness in photography education.
